FAQs
What does your name mean?
“Red Right Return” is a common nautical saying. It’s used by boaters to remember to keep the red buoys to your right as you navigate the sometimes precarious channels to return from the vast ocean into a safe harbor. We view navigating ALS in a similar way. We strive to be a navigational aid to ensure your generosity is properly utilized.
What differentiates you from other ALS charities?
Costs. Our events are 100% run by volunteers. We have also leveraged automation solutions to reduce administration costs which typically dilute the effectiveness of donor dollars. We only hire 3rd party service providers when absolutely necessary.
Are you a 501(c)(3)?
Yes. We operate as a qualified tax exempt organization. We have applied for tax exempt status with the IRS. We expect to receive our determination letter by May or June 2025 based on current IRS processing times. While we wait on our determination letter, you may still claim a tax deduction for your donations to Red Right Return Inc.
Can anyone host an event?
Absolutely! We are organized in such a way that anyone can host an event and leverage our skills and tools. We will gladly help you host a wonderful event. We won’t charge you to host an event, ever, and we welcome your suggestions on who should be the beneficiary of your event. As long as dollars are utilized efficiently and we are legally able to distribute net proceeds to the beneficiaries, we’re on board!
